Bob Simmons is a native Texas bassist that began his bass journey in Garland, TX at the age of 9. he studied under Brian Peacock, and later, with David Neubert. Throughout his career he has had to opportunity to play with many orchestras in Texas and Colorado, and spent many years touring with various artists, including the uptown 5, the Jill Stevenson band, and Up With People. There's not a type of music that Bob doesn't play, from classical, to gypsy jazz, country, rock, rockabilly, fusion, funk and more. Currently, he is spending his performance time with Justin Ross and Deadwood Revival, who will release their inaugural album in spring 2024.

As an educator, Bob has been teaching the double bass since 2001, teaching middle school through collegiate bass players both privately and in group settings. He currently teaches privately, as well as at the North Texas Double Bass conservatory for the Bradetitch foundation.
