Grace is passionate about string teachers and student success.  Born out of her own struggles over the years as a teacher, Grace has developed the Smart String Teacher Academy, the very first formal step-by-step classroom string pedagogy training that can be delivered to teachers across the globe online.

No matter their string-playing background, Grace’s mission is that every teacher have access to reliable and effective string teacher training that helps them become the best string teacher they can be for their students.

To that ends, she has designed a method that is so simple, clear, and efficient, she has helped music teachers of all backgrounds to master the basics of playing and teaching all the instruments in a matter of weeks. They return to the classroom with a new found confidence and ease, feeling prepared and excited to take their students to new heights.

Grace earned her music and teaching degrees from the University of Toronto.  She has 30 years of private and classroom experience and currently teaches high school in Toronto.   She has been interviewed by Music Ed Insights and the Low 2 Show and has articles in SBO+ Magazine and the Utah Music Educators Journal. 

Grace has written many publications for the string classroom including Smart Scales for Strings, Smart Bowing Exercises, and Smart Fingering Charts for Strings. She has presented at music education conferences across Canada and the United States, including at the OMEA (Ontario), BCMEA (British Columbia), ASTA (American String Teachers Association),the Midwest Clinic and Sistema Canada.  Hundreds of string teachers have benefited from her popular and practical in-person and online clinics and events.
