Together with The Philadelphia Orchestra

We are assuring this ladder will be left in place for students of today, tomorrow and into the future

Eastman and the members of The Philadelphia Orchestra worked together to develop the line of La Scala string instruments. These violins, violas, and cellos will be sold by authorized Eastman dealers in and around Philadelphia. For each instrument sold, Eastman will donate the equivalent instrument to a student in need in the Philadelphia community.

To bolster the program, members of The Philadelphia Orchestra will be conducting masterclasses for students of all levels and will be paying visits to orchestra programs throughout the region. La Scala is also a proud part of the Orchestra's HEAR initiative, a group of programs promoting wellness, music education, and music awareness in the community.

Modern Instruments; Old-Fashioned Quality

Handcrafted from aged German tonewoods and varnished one by one in the Eastman Strings workshop

La Scala is made from exquisite German tonewoods and expertly handcrafted by skilled luthiers. Tops and backs are carefully calibrated for optimal tonal response. Each piece is completed with hand rubbed spirit varnish from a traditional recipe adding a distinctive tonal quality and appearance. The result is an instrument truly worthy of the emerging artist or professional.
