There are many things that I love about the Eastman VL701+ 5 string. For one, it carries a sonorous acoustic tone that is warm and clear. When plugged in, its characteristic acoustic tone does not wane or become compromised. As an orchestra educator, being able to easily plug the 5-string into an amp in order to demonstrate excerpts or play along with my students is invaluable. As an avid user of various pedals, I very much appreciate the flexibility of being able to easily maneuver back and forth between using the instrument in a purely acoustic manner and plugging in to loop, compose, or jam out.
